World Schools Golf Championship 2025 | Roll of Honour

The 2025/26 World School Games Event Series got underway in style this week as The World Schools Golf Championship returned to Scotland for three fantastic days of action.

Over 100 golfers from 23 different schools representing 17 different countries spanning six continents descended on the ‘Home of Golf’, with some incredible talent on display.

After a successful inaugural event last year, the 2025 edition came back even bigger and better as we welcomed competitors from new countries, such as Malaysia, Trinidad & Tobago, India, and Australia.

Alongside a solid crop of young Scottish golfers, this renewed international dimension further added to the excitement to the event as players got the unique opportunity to represent themselves, their school, and their country on the world stage.

New for 2025, WSG Golf this year included a day in St Andrews – one of the world’s most famous golfing towns – and visited two other stunning courses just outside of Edinburgh.

Beginning on Sunday evening, WSG Golf kicked off with our Welcome Ceremony hosted at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh. With a young bagpiper greeting the players at the door and typically ‘dreich’ weather, a more authentic Scottish welcome you could not get.

A chance for our golfers to come together, take part in their media duties, and enjoy a pre-event meal, the ceremony was the perfect way to open what turned out to be another hugely successful event.

The first day of action on Monday took us to Royal Musselburgh Golf Club, the sixth oldest club in the world. Set against the stunning backdrop of its castle-style clubhouse, Royal Musselburgh provided the perfect stage for our golfers to flourish as we witnessed some fantastic play across the double shotgun start.

Then, on Tuesday, the Championship returned to The Musselburgh Golf Club as the leaderboards began to take shape for the first time. Again, some incredible performances were put in – including in front of the live stream cameras which captured all the action on a selected Featured Hole across Days 1 and 2.

The third and final day of action took us to the stunning links courses at Fairmont St Andrews. In a change from the previous two rounds, players were split across two courses – the Torrance Course (Juniors & Staff) and the Kittocks Course (Seniors).

With strong winds to contend with, the first groups teed off at 8:30am and were followed by additional groups at 10-minute intervals. Our live stream was also split between two courses, allowing spectators to watch each and every golfer on our Featured Holes as they battled it out to be crowned World Champions of School Golf.

A well-deserved post-round lunch followed before the highly anticipated Awards Ceremony got underway. In total, 11 awards were up for grabs across the Junior, Senior and Teacher categories. Stroke Play and Stableford winners were crowned after 54 holes, and an Overall Team Event award was distributed to the school team of four golfers with the highest cumulative Stableford score.
