The World School Basketball Championships are held each November at the highly impressive Alquería del Basket facility in Valencia, Spain.

The event affords young players the unique opportunity to showcase their talents whilst representing themselves, their school, and their country on an international stage.

Open to schools from all over the world, WSG Basketball welcomes hundreds of young basketballers for three days of incredible action, and is the perfect place for players to meet new people in a highly-competitive sporting environment.

From tip-off in our curtain-raiser All-Star Matches to the final trophy lift on Sunday evening, The World School Basketball Championships promise to be the world’s premier school basketballing tournament.

L'Alqueria del Basket is the largest basketball training facility in Europe, boasting a total of 13 state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor courts. The venue is also home to Valencia Basket’s men’s and women’s professional teams, and sits alongside the brand new 20,000-seater Roig Arena.

Aside from the action, we also pride ourselves on offering players unforgettable experiences off the court - such as professional event media coverage, a live TV show, training and masterclass sessions with professional players, and optional excursions.

With the first event taking place in Abu Dhabi in 2019, WSG Basketball relocated to its current venue in Valencia in 2023 and has since hosted three successful editions. The event is now back bigger and more international than ever before for the sixth edition in November 2026.

WSG Basketball is truly unique and the experience of a lifetime for young players, as we bring the best international talent from a variety of backgrounds under one roof for an incredible weekend of good-natured competition in Valencia.

Our exciting Opening Ceremony will welcome teams from across the globe before the WSG Basketball All-Star Matches kick things off in style. As Team Europe take on Team Rest of the World, our All-Star Matches will see players from different schools come together in one team - giving everyone in the crowd something to shout about. With Boys’, Girls’, and even Teachers’ matches, it’s the perfect way to set the tone for the action to come.

Schools will then contest a series of Group Stage matches over the next few days before progressing into the relevant tiered knockout competition to challenge for silverware.

Individual Player of the Match and MVP awards are also up for grabs for standout performers across the weekend as we celebrate the incredible talent on display by the stars of tomorrow.

The tournament is open to Boys and Girls teams in U16 and U19 age categories, with places allocated on a first come, first served basis and confirmed upon payment of your Team Registration Fee.
