First ever WSG World Series standings confirmed
Other News
The race to become the first ever WSG World Series Champions is officially underway, with initial standings now live following WSG Golf!
Launched for the 2026/27 academic year, the WSG World Series is our new Series-wide championship table, rewarding schools for their achievements across the World School Games Event Series.
Points are accumulated throughout the year and are based on schools' event attendance and performance across all age groups and genders.
The journey began in Scotland in September as our WSG Golfers became the first athletes to contribute points towards the new world ranking system.
With those points now calculated, nine schools feature in the initial WSG World Series standings, setting the early benchmark as the race to be crowned World Champions of School Sport gets underway.

Attention now turns to WSG Football in Barcelona, taking place between 9–11 October, where the next set of World Series points will be up for grabs.
The table will begin to take shape as a larger field of schools have the opportunity to make their mark on the Series.
From there, the race will continue throughout our 2026/27 events programme before reaching its conclusion following WSG Netball in June 2027 .
The school sitting at the summit when the final points have been awarded will be crowned WSG World Series Champions, writing their name into history on our bespoke trophy as the first world champions.
The race has begun.
