The World Schools Netball Cup returned to Loughborough University for its sixth edition last month, with over 350 players from across the globe taking part in the prestigious event!

In total, 26 schools from seven countries spanning four continents descended on the university’s state-of-the-art facilities for this year’s extended competition.

We were especially delighted to welcome schools from new countries – such as Australia and Namibia – as WSG Netball continues to further cement its place as the premier global school netball competition.

The event was once again held at the fantastic Loughborough University, home of Netball Super League side Loughborough Lightning, with the Sir David Wallace and Netball Centres providing the perfect stage upon which the next generation of talent could perform.

It all began on the Wednesday, with our travelling teams taking part in special masterclass sessions led by professional Loughborough Lightning players and completing their pre-event media duties.

Wednesday evening then saw the Opening Ceremony take centre stage, with the bleachers packed out as we welcomed our team captains from across the globe to Loughborough. A fantastic, colourful celebration, we were also delighted to be joined by Lightning GK, Alice Harvey, who offered her advice to our young players ahead of the event.

After the ceremony, it was time for the long-awaited WSG Netball All-Star Matches! Team UK faced Team Rest of the World across U13, U15, and Senior matches, with the score carrying over after each and eventually crowning Team UK as champions. It was fantastic to see all schools coming together, making their voices heard, and supporting their stars – the perfect opening to WSG Netball 2026!

It was then down to business on Thursday and Friday, with an extended two full days of Group Stage action across all four courts. The many spectators in attendance – and those watching on from afar via our live stream – were treated to some incredible performances throughout the weekend.

By the end of Friday, though, the group standings were taking shape as teams progressed into the relevant tiered knockout phase for their chance to take home some silverware. Cups, Plates, and Bowls were up for grabs, as well as individual MVP awards for the top-performing star in each age category.

Another hugely exciting day was then capped off at the Awards Ceremony as we crowned the World Champions of School Netball.

Let’s now take a look at the official World Schools Netball Cup 2026 Roll of Honour…
