Inaugural World School Games Olympia set for Doha

The inaugural World School Games Olympia is just days away as over 1200 young athletes from across the globe prepare to compete on the grandest stage in school sport!

In total, 31 schools from seven different countries spanning three continents will descend on Doha, Qatar to take part in the event which is the crown jewel in the international school sporting calendar.

As the flagship, multisport event in our Series, WSG Olympia is truly unique and incorporates football, swimming, and athletics into one global celebration of sport and culture.

Schools will compete across U11, U13, and U15 age groups, with a variety of awards up for grabs across the three-day event.

As well as individual and sport-specific accolades, schools will also compete in the Overall Team Leaderboard.

Every single race, jump, throw, and kick of the ball counts as teams collect points with the aim of being crowned World Champions of School Sport.

Hosted at the Aspire Zone, students will have the unique opportunity to showcase their talents in some of the world’s finest sporting facilities.

The 250-hectare complex has welcomed some of the world’s best athletes to live, train, and compete onsite, and will now play host to the next generation of sporting talent.

The venue can also boast of being home to the world’s largest multi-purpose sports dome – the Aspire Dome – with 13 different playing surfaces, an athletics arena, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool all under one roof.

The action gets underway on Thursday morning as we welcome our schools to the Aspire Zone with a grand Opening Ceremony to kickstart the Games in style.

It’s then down to business with non-stop action across Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as athletes represent themselves, their school, and their country on the world stage.

• Thursday: U11 Football, U13 Athletics, U15 Swimming
• Friday: U11 Athletics, U13 Swimming, U15 Football
• Saturday: U11 Swimming, U13 Football, U15 Athletics
