World Schools Golf Championship 2026 | Roll of Honour

The 2026/27 World School Games Event Series got underway in spectacular fashion this week as The World Schools Golf Championship returned to Scotland for its third edition!

A total of 85 golfers from 23 schools, representing 17 nationalities across four continents, descended on the Home of Golf for three days of competition across some of Scotland’s finest courses.

This year’s Championship also welcomed a number of new faces to the WSG stage, including our first-ever representatives from the USA, Cayman Islands, and Belgium! Players once again had the opportunity to represent themselves, their school, and their country on the international stage.

And with WSG Golf becoming the first event of the newly-launched WSG World Series, there was even more at stake as schools competed to put the first points on the board in the year-round championship.

The week officially began on Sunday evening at the Apex Hotel in Dundee, where players came together for the WSG Golf Opening Ceremony.

Hosted by Adam Binnie, the evening gave our golfers the chance to meet their fellow competitors, take part in pre-event media, enjoy a number of activities and challenges, and settle in ahead of three big days on the course.

Monday morning saw the Championship get underway at Ladybank Golf Club, with the full field teeing off at 9am in a shotgun start.

One of Scotland’s most highly-regarded inland courses, Ladybank provided a brilliant opening test as our first leaderboards of the week began to take shape.

Once the opening 18 holes were complete, the players headed into St Andrews for an afternoon at the Home of Golf before attention quickly turned towards Round Two.

Tuesday took the Championship to Fairmont St Andrews and the spectacular Kittocks Course.

With golfers heading out from the first tee throughout the morning, the competition began to intensify as the leading contenders emerged across the Junior, Senior, and Teachers’ competitions.

Friends and family were once again able to follow the action through the WSG Golf live stream, with featured hole coverage, multiple camera angles, shot tracer technology, commentary, and on-course interviews bringing viewers closer to the Championship than ever before.

Everything then came down to Wednesday’s final round on Fairmont St Andrews’ Torrance Course.

With Championship titles on the line, players headed out from both the first and tenth tees for one final 18-hole battle.

Across the course, the Stroke Play and Stableford leaderboards continued to change as the final groups made their way towards the clubhouse, before our 2026 World Champions of School Golf were finally confirmed.

The event concluded with the WSG Golf Awards Presentation, celebrating the outstanding performances of our young players.

For the first time, those performances also earned schools points towards the WSG World Series, establishing the inaugural standings as the new 2026/27 championship officially got underway. These will be available to view on our website in due course.
