The race for the first ever WSG World Series title continues to take shape, with 47 schools now on the board following the World Schools Football Cup in Barcelona!

Two events into the 2026/27 campaign, the WSG World Series table now looks very different from the one published after WSG Golf.

The World Schools Football Cup 2026 brought around 1100 players from 39 schools and 18 countries to Barcelona earlier this month. Teams competed across six age categories, with every participating school also earning World Series points based on their finishing positions and the number of teams within each category.

As a reminder, points are earned through attendance and performance at every WSG event, across all age groups and genders.

Where things stand

St Catherine’s British School, Greece lead the way on 800 points. Scarisbrick Hall School, England (550) and Beths Grammar School, England (520) complete the top three.

Radnor House Sevenoaks are the only school so far to have earned points at both WSG Golf and WSG Football, and they sit joint seventh on 320 points.

The table is already truly international, featuring schools from 21 countries - such as Nigeria, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, the Cayman Islands, and the United States of America.

With many points still to come from across our 2026/27 Event Series, there’s a long way to go before the first champions are decided.

What’s next

Next up is WSG Basketball in Valencia, Spain, from 6–8 November, where the next set of WSG World Series points will be up for grabs.

The table will be updated after every WSG event, with regular updates across our social channels. The race then concludes after WSG Netball in June 2027.

The school at the top when the final points are awarded will be crowned the first WSG World Series Champions, and will have its name engraved on our bespoke trophy.

Two events down. The race continues.
